Don't forget to come out for Bike Lafayette's first Membership Meeting this Wednesday, 9/18 at 6pm at Rosa Parks Transportation Center (101 Jefferson St., Lafayette). (Social to follow at Jefferson Street Pub.) The meeting will focus on our development as a new nonprofit corporation. Our objective is to engage broader participation in the organization’s activities to keep pace with ever growing demand for a bike friendly Lafayette and build a self-sustaining, local bicycling advocacy organization.
Current board members will introduce themselves, provide an overview of the organization’s accomplishments and challenges to date, and share plans for the coming year. Our aim is to invite cycling community input and feedback, and provide concrete opportunities for community members to get involved. Specifically, we’ll solicit membership for new standing committees to perform key organizational functions, including Membership & Volunteers, Communications & Education, Events & Fundraising, Government Relations, and Community Outreach. We’ll also take nominations for new board members.
The meeting is open to the public, but only Bike Lafayette members may vote and make nominations for the board. If you are unsure of your current membership status, email email@example.com To join or renew, choose a membership level under Support Bike Lafayette in the upper right hand corner on www.bikelafayette.org
