Thanks to all who came out for the Gumbo Ride last Saturday. See our gallery for photos. We had more than 50 riders each for the 40 mile out of town and 10 mile in town rides, plus 30 more for the 4 mile family ride. We fed well over a hundred (thanks, Ken Dyson!), and had great participation in the Vision Session afterward. We appreciate LCG planner Cathie Gilbert and MPO planner Laura Phillips who took time out of their Saturday to come and share with us what city-parish government is doing toward a bike friendly Lafayette. It was great to see such diverse cyclists come together, from seasoned to new, commuter to cruiser to racer to tike trailer, etc. So many different people from so many different places. It was fun to connect it all. Couldn't think of a better way to start the year or a more solid foundation to build on for local bicycle advocacy in 2013. Let the progress continue!
